Hello everyone! It’s another week of June.
Today is Father’s Day, so happy Father’s day, Papa!
To the parents out there in the world who play or will play the role of being a father, this goes for you, too!
We cherish moments with our parents/guidances - they are there to pass on their wisdom, genes and knowledge.
In reference to my Mother's Day post about how I've gotten comments that I look like my dad.
In some ways, I look like my dad, but these days I've started to notice a lot more similarities between my dad and I, behaviour wise. Yes, Papa, you were happy when I told you about my realization, and you too, agreed. It is eerily weird; it's like seeing two people with some of the same personality. I guess we are a bit too much for some people. ;)
Now my dad is no ordinary dad (I’m sure everyone says that), but you see, he moved here to Canada with my mother and I from India. My dad has sacrificed a lot to be here, to start a life for my small family at the time, to give me a better life and education in Ontario, Canada. He had to work, while my mother was taking care of me (I was 3 and half at that time), she later then got pregnant with my brother. There were two more mouths to feed! My maternal grandma came to be there for my brother’s birth.
Fast forward to 8 years later - my then small family became bigger - with a new addition, my sister.
I am deaf, when I was younger, I had to do speech therapy. In 2002-2004, every Tuesday or whatever day was suitable, my dad used to take me to meet with a speech therapist for an hour.
We would leave in the morning, at 8:30am or so, be there for 9am, do the appointment for an hour, then leave to drop me off to school at around 10:30am which would be my recess time. After dropping me off and signing me in at the school office, he would then leave for work.
Two years of that. Imagine that, huh? I’m grateful for him doing that for me, otherwise my speech and listening skills wouldn’t be great as it is now. Thank you, Papa, I know I don’t show my gratefulness but, truly, I am.
Today, we had a nice brunch with the family, and then played some games, Pictionary, Cranium, and President. All fun games! We even did charades, guess who won? *points to myself* That's right, me! Good guess, guys!
Now, to the fun part of this post...pictures! I know you are all waiting to see what pictures I'll post of my dad and I.
No need to wait any longer!
MMM..maybe a bit more...?
Okay, okay. No more waiting, I promise.
Presenting...my luuuurvely father and I.

Look at us, super cool on the purple scooter.
We are definitely rocking this look! *poses for a Father/Daughter motorcycle magazine*

Look, Papa, I'm having a solo adventure without *ahem* your supervision. I had no one to play with! :(
*puts on a sunglasses* "That was the day I learned to be independent and learned how to make do without having a company."
That concludes my Father's Day post. Here's to many, many more!
Happy Father's Day, everyone. Let's enjoy this beautiful sunny day, even if it wasn't F.D (Father's Day). Still, enjoy this lazy Sunday!
Cheers!
